August Weather Still Hot

August Weather Still Hot. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. Fruit growers are getting geared up for harvest of apples, pears and more in the coming weeks and as always keeping one eye on the sky to see what Mother Nature may have in store. Northwest Ag Information Network's staff meteorologist Tim Creek check in. CREEK: As we head through the remainder of the month of August it does look like we are going to see sunny and hot weather for maybe much of the next 10 days or so. Through this week, the upcoming weekend and maybe through the middle of next week the latest long range weather charts are showing another trough of low pressure pushing into the area around the 21st or so and it's going to give us the same type of situation that we have seen in much of the first part of August in that the threat of isolated shower and thunder shower activity will return to the forecast. What we'll see for the most part is sunny and mild with temperatures at or slightly below average with this minor disturbance in the atmosphere situated right over the region we are going to see that potential for isolated showers and thunder showers. Bottom line is a continued warm weather pattern. CREEK: The next 10 days look to be sunny and not quite hot yet until maybe the middle of this week and then hot as we get into the later part of the week, the weekend and the first of that following week with temperatures ranging in the mid 90's to near 100 degrees almost on a consistent basis and then we'll get back to what has been very typical for this summer season and that's no big storm activity but enough instability in the atmosphere that we'll have to keep an eye on the potential of isolated showers. That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
