05/27/08 Idaho primary election day

It's your chance to stand up and be counted today among the voters who will choose the slate of candidates for the November general election. Idaho voters can pick a ballot, Republican or Democrat, whether a member of the party or not, and its doesn't matter which party you voted for in the last primary. Not registered? You can do that too by taking proof of residency to your polling place and registering then. All Idahoans will be asked to select a Supreme Court candidate between Joel Horton who was appointed by Governor Otter last year and Grangeville attorney John Bradbury. The entire state votes for Senate candidates to replace the retiring Larry Craig. Republican Lt Governor Jim Risch and former Democratic Congressman Larry LaRocco are the front runners in that race. First District Congressman Bill Sali and Second District Congressman Mike Simpson have GOP opponents today. Idaho has 35 legislative districts with a Senator in each and two Representatives per district and depending on the county you live in there are various local races to be decided today. Idahovotes.gov is the website you can go to for questions about voting or call your county elections office. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
