Washington Ag April 1, 2008 The Garfield County Fairgrounds in Pomeroy is where they will be celebrating Spring Farming Days this coming Saturday and Sunday April 5th and 6th. Area farmer David Ruark says there will be plowing to planting demonstrations with horse drawn equipment and something special this year.
Ruark: "This year we have the dedication of our brand new Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum building at 2 p.m. Saturday the 5th. That is a pretty special occasion for us. We started back in 2004 to make plans, get funding and get a building done and get the items in it."
That museum has items of eastern Washington's agricultural heritage from small to large.
Ruark: "We actually have a Harris pull combine in the museum."
Ruark says there are plenty of activities for the whole family.
Ruark: "There is going to be a quilt show for the ladies. There is a chili cook off if there are some real chili cooks out there that want to join the competition. That is on Saturday."
Plus plenty of old farm machinery on display and on demonstration.
