Clore Center Grand Opening

Clore Center Grand Opening

Clore Grand Opening. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

It has been a long time coming, close to 10 years in the making but the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center is finally opening its doors. Executive Director, Abbey Cameron talks about the opening.

CAMERON: We’re really excited. On May 30th we’re going to have our grand opening celebration and we’re going to do our ribbon cutting for the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center and it’s going to be a super fun, exciting day.

The event will run from 1 to 3pm and is open to the public.

CAMERON: We’ve made it a point to invite as well all of our donors and supporters and industry partners and really kind of everybody who’s helped us get to this point over what has been, gosh, about a ten year in the making project.

Cameron talks about the vision for the Clore Center.

CAMERON: What we want to do and what who we’re going to be is a center to really talk about Washington wine and Washington’s agriculture. We are going to operate as a tasting room so it’s a pretty similar tasting room experience to what you find all over the state but what we do in our tasting room is focus on a different area of Washington wine every month. So we’re kind of telling different stories and showcasing different wineries in the areas and people and terroir. And then while you are in our tasting room you are going to get, over time, to experience a little bit of Washington wine and agriculture history.

That’s today’s Fruit Grower Report. I’m Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
