Lucky Or Not

My dad used to say "If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all!" but if you want to talk about luck, I know just the guy. On the last day of archery season RJ Oxford and his friend filled their tags on two mature bulls. Sounds pretty lucky right? Well, on the pack trip out RJ and hunting partner Vern, hit another patch of luck but, this time it wasn't good luck.

RJ "Guy I was hunting with Vern, I called him and he shot a 5 point and then we drove back to where we saw a big bull the night before. We set up and called in a big 300 class 6 point, shot him and went to pack him out the next morning and I had a green horse in the pack string that didn't like being there for some reason. He spooked at something and he took off and ran me over and I lost all 3 of them and the guy I was with, I said "oh don't worry, ol' Jag will stop". We saw them 300 yards later still running with the wild mustangs and that was the last we saw of them for 4 days, saddles and bridles and everything. We got everything back but a saddle pad and a blanket off one horse, but everything else made it home."

RJ said he stayed on the mountain the first two nights searching for his horses. On day 3 he heard the horses but the timber was so thick they lost their tracks not long after that. Finally after 4 stressful days, they found the horses all safe and sound.
