I'm Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for September 7th. This week trade was low with a light to moderate demand in the cattle market trade. Gregg Sanders reports his observations from the floor of the CME.

Sanders "National slaughter cattle review for Thursday september3rd 2015. On Thursday in Kansas trading was at a standstill, however for Friday morning voluntary sources are reporting live sales that have sold 3 dollars lower. At 1.43 when compared to last week. In Nebraska trading was slow to moderate, a few live sales sold from 1.42 to 1.43. A few dressed sales sold from 2.22 however not enough for a full market trend."

Chicago September Wheat ended last week up 1 ¾, at 458 1/4. September corn ended the day down 3/4 at 348 1/2.

Portland prices for soft white wheat with 10.5 % protein for September, are hanging around the 6-39 mark. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for September are between 5-47 ¾ to 5-82 3/4. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for September are around the 6-03 ¼ to 6-23 ¼ range. October live cattle closed last week down $1.15, at 140.45. October Feeder cattle were down $1.45, at 195.87 1/2. October class III milk was up 19 cents, at 16-22.
