Old McDonald

What you just heard came from a group of children singing in the New MacDonald video produced by a group called Only Organic. In the song, the kids are singing about Old McDonald using GMO’s, herbicides, hormones… The usual fare coming from people who criticize our food production in America.

 

This rebuttal from U.S. Farmers and Rancher’s CEO Randy Krotz: “You may have viewed the recent video called “New MacDonald” that was released by the organization Only Organic. Many farmers and ranchers of all stripes – big, small, organic, conventional – were disturbed by the misrepresentation of farming practices in this video. Like many other negative marketing attacks disguised as entertainment we’ve seen over the past few years, it used emotion to try to turn myths into consumer truths. This video uses grade school children to attack farmers’ practices in areas like animal welfare, GMOs and crop inputs in very visual and disturbing ways. A diverse group of farmers representing all types of production practices criticized the video for being misleading and unfair.”
