Wheat Ends Week Slightly Higher

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for November 25, 2013.

December wheat closed slightly higher on the session Friday though did manage to close more than 5 cents higher on the week. Fears that Australia and Argentina crop production may be hit with adverse weather helped to provide some underlying support. From the floor of the CME Group, Greg Wagner shares his observations of Friday's markets.

Wagner: "Friday's trade to end this week's grain trade was soy-centric.That is what it basically comes down to -- the soybean market just absolutely exploded with January soybeans closing 28 cents higher breeching the $13 level -- which has always been a physiclogical issue and closing above $13-19 and some change. Wheat market mixed -- Chicago very anemic performance, a better performance out of Kansas City and Minneapolis today."

Chicago March Wheat ended Friday up 2 and 1/4 cents at 6-57. March corn ended the day down a 1/4 of a cent at 4-29 and 1/4.??Portland prices for soft white white were mixed down 5 and 1/2 cents to up 3/4 of a cent at mostly 7-11. White club wheat prices were up 3/4 of a cent at mostly 7-36. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 6 and 1/4 cents at mostly 7-98. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 2 to 3 cents at mostly 8-40 and 1/4.

?February live cattle were down 55 cents Friday at 131-80. January Feeder cattle were up 12 and half cents at 163-50. January class III milk was down a nickel at 17-32.
