Wheat Ends Thursday Slightly Mixed

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for November 22, 2013.

December wheat closed 1 1/2 cents higher on the session as strength in the other grains helped to pull the market higher in spite of weakness late in the day. The close was down 4 3/4 cents off of the highs. From the floor of the CME Group, Larry Shover shares his observations of Thursday's markets.

Shover: "Wheat was up a penny continues to be strong and production concerns persist. We have China with 40 percent of its crop in a drought condition. Also Argentina reports that the crop looks like 9.1 million tonnes as compared to 11 million tonnes so keeping a firm bid on wheat."

Chicago December Wheat ended Thursday up 1 and 1/2 cents at 6-48 and 3/4. December corn ended the day up 6 cents at 4-23.??Portland prices for soft white white were up 1 and 1/2 to 2 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-13 and 1/2. White club wheat prices had no price comparisons. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 2 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-91 and 3/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 2 and 1/2 to 8 and 1/2 cents at mostly 8-37 and 1/4.

?December live cattle were up 40 cents Thursday at 131-45. January Feeder cattle were up 62 and half cents at 163-37 and half. December class III milk up 32 cents at 18-09.
