Potato Expo Happening in San Francisco January 4-6

One of the potato industry’s must attend events is rapidly approaching. The 2017 Potato Expo will be held in San Francisco January 4th through the 6th. National Potato Council CEO and Executive Vice President John Keeling shares more about this exciting event
Keeling: “Well, what’s going to be happening is if you are involved in the potato industry, you’re going to have to come to San Francisco to visit your friends and neighbors because they are all going to be there. We’re looking at the largest attendance we’ve ever had, the most exhibitors we’ve ever had. There is a lot of excitement around San Francisco and we think it is a bucket-list-kind-of-city. So we think people are going to go. The program is shaping up to be really good. We’ve got a lot of good events and good speakers. We’re really excited about it.”
Some of those speakers are: Jim “The Rookie” Morris who was the subject of the hit movie, “The Rookie”, and Economic and Business Innovation Thought Leader Rich Karlgaard. The second annual Spud Nation Throwdown cooking contest will feature international chefs preparing dishes made with U.S potatoes.
If you haven’t yet registered Keeling says there is still time.
Keeling: “People can absolutely show up and register onsite. The price increases again on December 21st. So you want to register online before December 21st and save some money. But if you want to make a last minute decision to come to San Francisco for New Year’s and stay for Expo, just come on and get your hotel room and register onsite.”
