One piece of machinery that many farms around the country have on-hand is a skid steer. Like many vehicles, there is now an electric model of skid steer available on the market. Marcus Suess, COO of Firstgreen Industries, says their all-electric skid steer is the first of its kind, and fits all existing standard skid steer attachments.

Suess… “So the great thing about a skid steer is it's the Swiss army knife of the industry. And, we use standard hydraulic attachments and standard couplers, so we're happy that you have attachments sitting around that you can just use on our skid steer. You do not have to purchase any proprietary attachments.”

Suess says in addition to the obvious savings in diesel costs, there are additional savings in maintenance and operator health.

Suess… “It's a lot in cost savings, right? No diesel. Knowing your steady costs throughout time is helpful. No fluctuation in pricing. Minimal maintenance. So our machines pay themselves off within about a year because we are not that much higher in price than their diesel counterparts. So we're talking about the cost savings and we're talking about their personal health.”
