It's getting hot out and summer is in full swing. If you are getting tired of rubbing elbows with everyone and their dog on the shorelines at your favorite fishing hole why not take a trip to the high mountain lakes. Tom Schneider with stuck in the rut has been doing just that. " Schneider, Theses high mountain lakes, for the most part you get away from people. For me personally I'm not the greatest fisherman if I am fishing areas that are very competitive and you got other people fishing them and individuals that have to see what type of flies are hatching, that's not me, but what we do is get back in the back country, get the horses exercised. We will pack fuzzies, maggots, get in the high country and about every cast you will catch those little brook trout. I's really fun, we enjoy it. "Matt, you said is that a fuzzy, what is a Fuzzy?" " Schneider, Basically a black fly and we just through some maggots on their. The fish like to hit it naturally, whenever I try to through on sinkers or a bobber they don't seem to want it but they like that naturally fall in the water. They hit it pretty good in the early mornings and late evenings, but yeah.. It's fun." "Tom, For some of those crystal clear high mountain lakes, my favorite fly is an olive green woolly-burger, it seems to work perfect for those bookies and Yellowstone cutthroat."
