This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for July 4th. I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July. Let's check in with Greg Sanders to hear what he was to say about the weekly cattle review with the USDA.

Sanders "National Slaughter cattle review for Thursday June 30th, 2016. On Thursday trade was active with good demand in all major feeding regions. Compared to last week in the southern plains live sales sold $6 higher at $1.22 in Nebraska when compared to the prior week live sales sold $5-7 higher at mostly $1.23. Dress sales sold from $9-$10 higher, for $1.95 to $2. In Colorado, live sales sold $7 higher at $1.23 when compared to the prior week."

Chicago July Wheat prices closed yesterday dn 15, at 416. July corn ended the day down 5 ¾, at 353 ½. Portland prices for soft white wheat of Ordinary Protein for July were dn 30, ranging from 4-60 ¼ to 5-20. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for July were dn 13-16, ranging from 4-61 ½ to 4-81 ½. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for July were dn 13 ¼, ranging from 5-75 to 5-94. Aug Live Cattle closed the day dn $1.85, at 112.97 ½. Aug Feeder cattle were dn $1.85, at 142.25. July class III milk was dn 20 cents at 15-05.
