Several governments are opposing Monsanto's Round-up weed killer causing the EU, 28 member state to fall short of the necessary 65% vote threshold needed to reauthorize Round-up. The final decision is now up to the EU's commission. From Ag web, USDA is spending 1 million dollars to study antibiotic-resistant bugs in dairy cow manure how they survive treatment systems and whether any residuals end up on farm fields. To date, there has not been any direct evidence of antimicrobial resistance, spreading as a result of antibiotic use on dairy farms. Finally AP reports A federal judge on Tuesday approved a $50 million settlement to be paid by a national dairy marketing cooperative to thousands of Northeast dairy farmers. Dairy Farmers of America will pay an average of $4,000 to nearly 9000 farms to settle a lawsuit that accused the marketing group of trying to drive down milk prices.
