Something looks like a great documentary on water. Filmmaker Conrad Weaver has produced and directed a movie called Thirsty Land. In his words …it is the story of drought that needs to be told! Our global food supply and our very survival as humans depends on clean, abundant fresh water. I want to make the audience think about it every time they take a drink of water, enjoy a shower, or water their lawn. We have been given stewardship of a treasure that’s precious and provides food for the world. It must be managed well so that future generations have the same opportunities we enjoy. Shrinking soil. Vanishing rivers. The global food supply at stake... Drought is silently strangling our country, and the battle is just beginning.” Let me play you a few clips beginning with a soundbite from Pat Mulroy General Manager Southern Nevada Water Authority (retired) “The biggest challenge we have in the short term is bridging that gap that we have between the agricultural community and the urban community. We are not enemies.” Pat O’toole, Owner of theLadder Ranch in Savery WY standing in front of a dwindling stream: “This is the lowest I have ever seen it”

THIRSTY LAND documents the fight for water, soon to be our most precious resource.
