Last week, I pointed out that Weatherby firearms has put out a web site called WBY-TV.com. This TV website features educational and entertaining videos for all who have a passion for the outdoor, hunting and shooting lifestyle. In terms of educational, there is one place where you can go to get what they call Weatherby tips which are little videos that are educational regarding hunting. Weatherby team member Scott Haugen gave the following advice about hunting dogs. "We hooked up with Steve Waller of Tall Timber Poodle Pointers in Oakland, Oregon. I had hunted behind Poodle pointers a lot and had great success with them hunting for shed antlers. When our son went hunting with a breeder our life changed. Three months later we had our first dog. Echo is now 10 months old and she has been on many hunts with us. When searching for a dog that is right for you, take your time. Consider the type of hunting you will be doing. You may want a family dog or one that sleeps outside in a kennel. The realistic and ready to spend time with the pup helping it develop its hunting skills. If looking for a hunting dog that is right for you, be patient, do your homework and get ready to enjoy the great outdoors.
