8-6 IAN Cheese Innovation

 So I get this press release, like that’s unusual, from Glanbia Foods. It’s a big fancy piece of art saying “Celebrating cheese innovation.” And it turns out that Glanbia is opening a Cheese Innovation Center. I call up Whitney Beem whose job title is marketing manager and the cat and mouse conversation ensues: “What is cheese innovation? Is this going to be recorded? Yes it is. Oh that’s good to know. Can it be teasing what is coming and inviting people to come down? I’m not trying to be a bully about it but we have had a lot of press asking can we come down and get a sneak peek, can we talk to your CEO and I just thought it’s going to take away from that day and he is very excited about it. So what is cheese innovation and why is this cheese innovation center here in Twin Falls, Idaho? Gheese innovation center is opening because it is our long term strategy to grow value in cheese. Why is it in Idaho? Because it is the heart of the dairy community, it is close to our milk source, it is close to our plants, and it is close to our people that are good at innovating. The Innovation Center will not be open to the public on an ongoing basis, it is a place where our customers come in and work but for one day which is Wednesday, August 7 we are going to be taking a behind the scenes tour and allowing people to come in and see what Cheese Innovation Center is, what it can do and why we built it.
