Assistance for on-farm energy conservation

Assistance for on-farm energy conservation

Washington Ag Today December 15, 2011 Financial and technical assistance is now available through the Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program, EQIP, for producers interested in conserving energy on their property.

According to NRCS Acting Assistant State Conservation, Lacey Gaw, a qualified energy management consultant will work with producers using a new energy assessment tool. That tool is tailored specifically for Washington producers and will help evaluate energy conservation options and identify potential energy savings on each operation.

The on-farm energy initiative is a continuous sign up, and applications may be submitted at any time. Applications will be evaluated periodically as funding becomes available and with evaluation periods ending February 3rd, March 30th and June 1st of 2012.

Now this from Stockland Livestock.

This is Jack McQuiness at Stockland Livestock in Davenport. We have one sale left on our schedule this year. That will be next Monday, December 19th. Market here on Monday trended higher on the weigh up cows and bulls. We expect that to continue as we head into the holiday season. We have most of the cows in the high 50s, low 60s with the better end of the cows in the high 60s. Bulls in the low to mid 50s for the better end of those. Feeder cattle fully steady all the way around. Continued good demand for replacement quality heifers and cattle under 650 pounds. That is it for our report. Thanks for listening. We will talk to you again next week with a full wrap up of our market. That’ Stockland Livestock in Davenport.

Thanks Jack.

I’m Bob Hoff and that’s Washington Ag Today on Northwest Aginfo Net.
