Pea and lentil producers to get ACRE payment

Washington Ag Today October 18, 2011 Washington pea and lentil growers who opted into the federal Average Crop Revenue Election, or ACRE program, may see payments in the next two weeks. Judy Olson, Farm Service Agency State Executive Director, says FSA makes payments when a state revenue trigger is met and she says that trigger was met for 2010 dry peas and lentils.

Producers must meet an individual farm trigger in addition to the state trigger. The farm trigger is met when the farm ACRE guarantee exceeds the actual farm revenue for the crop year. The Farm Service Agency will make payments at a rate of $4.33 per acre for dry peas and $14.54 per acre for lentils to producers who have met the individual farm trigger.

Now the Stockland Livestock Report.

“This is Jack McQuinness at Stockland Livestock in Davenport. 13-hundred cattle on our market Monday. Feeders fully steady. Continued good demand with the four-weight steers up as high as $1.65. Heifers trailing right behind at $1.50 on those cattle weighing 400 pounds and under. Everything else calling steady. Some of the 750 pound steer calves, the best of them up to $1.35. Most of the trade in those six to seven-weight cattle $1.20 to $1.30 on the steer end and a $1.15 to $1.25 on the heifers weighing five to six hundred-fifty pounds. So good action, good market. Cow market fully steady. Most of the cow trade in the 50 to $60 range.

Thanks Jack.
