11-8 IAN Change and Ag

We heard change from Obama and the midterm elections brought change that may have a positive effect on ag. I’m DS…The mid-term elections saw solid Republican victories. Governor Otter retained his office, incumbent Congressman Mike Simpson had an overwhelming victory, incumbent Senator Mike Crapo stayed in office and probably the greatest change was Raul Labrador the self proclaimed conservative Republican who challenged and defeated 1st term Democratic Congressman Walt Minnick. Labrador pulled in a comfortable 49.7 percent of the vote to Minnick's 42.5 percent. It’s funny how change can come. I’ve heard more than a few people say that change with Obama meant putting in a dollar and getting 50 cents back. Spokesperson for the Idaho Farm Bureau, Jake Putnam had some observations: “The elections are going to bring a lot of change. We look forward to working with all of these new politicians, particularly Raul Labrador, on issues that are vital to the nation’s farmers and ranchers. Is the change good or bad? It’s change and we don’t think change is a bad thing.”
