Potato Goodness Website Success

The United States Potato Board’s consumer website, PotatoGoodness.com provides all things potato to consumers — nutritional information and recipes as well as describing the different varieties of potatoes. Meredith Myers, USPB Global Consumer Marketing Manager, shares recent news about the success of PotatoGoodness.com
Myers: “The big news here is that PotatoGoodness.com achieved more than one million visitors in fiscal year 2014. We are so excited about this number. What is the big takeaway — it wasn’t just a big number. We didn’t see just a 154 percent change in visits. That quantified — in FY 2013 we saw 404,000 visits — so we more than doubled our traffic in one year.”
The USPB partnership with food celebrity Hungry Girl Lisa Lillian had a big role in the increase but online ads were also drivers for new visits. The weekly recipe email to more than 30,000 subscribers has become an important driver as well. Myers adds the mobile site has dramatically increased visits too.
Myers: “We saw 483,000 visits to our mobile website that is more than the total potato goodness visits in FY 2013.”
