The technology is baffling. Farming has become as advanced as Star Wars. We recently did a story on a tractor that is called autonomous meaning that a farmer can control it from his laptop, whether that be at Starbucks or in his living room. Now, a clip from a video produced by Volvo regarding a driverless truck which could certainly help farmers. "Thank you for stopping. You're looking at the first truck in the world that can drive all by itself. It uses laser sensors.”

Then I get an email announcement about an Ag Innovation Showcase where agtech’s biggest names, brightest innovators, and most influential investors intersect. There will be panels on gene editing. Panelists will weigh in on how advancements in gene editing technology affect the agriculture innovation community and its consumers, and what lessons can be learned from GMOs about communication and public acceptance. We've come a long way from the way that your granddaddy did things.
