As the long process of crafting the new 2018 Farm Bill continues in the House and Senate, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue says he’s doing what he can to help.

“That’s what I think our job is. We don’t write the Farm Bill, but we can be there to guide and instruct and consult.”

He’s visited over 20 states since taking office last April to get more informed and hear directly from the farmers and ranchers and producers who will be directly impacted by the new 2018 legislation.

“What’s working and what’s not.”

The Secretary also thinks both the leaders in the House and the Senate are well informed on the intricacies involved in crafting the bill. House Ag Committee members have also traveled around the country for several listening sessions since last summer.
