Are the Chinese interested in our Agricultural products? I’m David Sparks and I’ll let Governor Otter tell you next.

In a recent conversation with Governor Otter, I had some one on one time with him and I wanted to find out if there was a positive looking future for Idaho ag…as in…during a recent trade mission to China, did the Chinese articulate an interest in buying from us. Absolutely. Obviously our reputation has been pretty strong all around the world. I found that out when I was Lt. Gov. I found it out in Congress and I’ve found it out many times as Governor in leading trade missions. Whether I’s the quality of the hay and our ability to deliver on time and as we said. But also peas and lentils, potatoes. Across the board…our feed grains, our cereal grains have all been accepted around the world and I would tell you one other thing that I think is terribly important. Under our marketing orders, when we sign a philo-sanitary certificate, it is as good as gold around the world.
