1-17 SS Joe Swiger Cancer
Outdoorsmen always seem to answer the call. It never ceases to amaze me. I met Joe Swiger on a hunting trip and as is always the case, when you sit around the Lodge and swap stories, you can run into some real doozies. This was not a tall tale… it was a tearjerker. “A very good friend of mine owns and operates a hunting preserve in Fayette County Pennsylvania. This all started when the man who runs Moment of Peace Corporation came to us and asked us if we would donate a hunt for children that have cancer, cystic fibrosis, and we hopped on that chance to do that. It is very rewarding to see those young kids that are anywhere from 10 to 17 years old who have these very bad diseases. The smiles on their faces when they get their 1st deer and it may be their only deer, their families join them, everything is videotaped, and for someone who has hunted since they were 8 years old and I am 46 years old now, that is probably one of the biggest thrills I have every year working with those children. All I can say is God bless you. Thank you. We give the kids 142 150 class deer to harvest. momentofpeace.com
