1-16 SS Muzzle Loader

 Muzzle loaders. What is the attraction? Jim Call runs an  outfitting service that specializes in Whitetail, Turkey and pheasant. One of the big things he advertises is hunting with muzzle loaders. I wanted to hear what an expert hunter, guide and outfitter had to say about his clients’ attraction to these rifles. “ Well you can come in and be the 1^st one in the field, you can mark a deer and set up for him and get some cool weather in their, you have a very good chance of scoring and harvesting a trophy deer. So the thing is to be the 1^st one out and there hasn’t been any pressure on the deer. You are very, very right. The actual muzzle loader, is it tougher to shoot? Describe the actual muzzle loader itself. We use 45 caliber or bigger on all of our weapons, it’s just a little bit more primitive and the guys like that idea, smokeless powder or what ever they are using, everybody enjoys what they are out there doing. It’s just different than using a regular rifle. It evens the playing field a little more. That’s right it evens the playing field But I will tell you that some of these guys come in and are very, very accurate from 200 yards.
