1-12 SS Kids Hunting

1-12 SS Kids Hunting

I had a chat with Jeff Streeter, creator of the very successful Lucky Bums  which makes camo gear  for kids. Given that he is in the hunting industry, I wanted his take on where he thinks kids fit in today with being in the great outdoors. His response: “ I think the numbers would surprise people as far as how many kids are involved. That being said, I think the industry, the hunting industry needs to wake up and say that we as an industry need to continue doing what we are doing and more. We must make sure that that hunting heritage continues Through the next generation of kids coming forward. While I think there is some great opportunity and responsibility on our part to make sure the kids are getting out and we are maintaining that, when you look at the number of kids that actually are out and doing it, there is a fair number. We work with retailers across the entire United States. When we anecdotally talk about stories and hear stories and get e-mails about kids having success on a deer hunt or a turkey hunt, there is definitely a market out there. I would consider it a niche market but it is there. So I think there are 2 answers to your question. Number 1, there is a market there are kids and families out doing it. Number 2 we need to get more. We have a responsibility to make sure this next generation of kids coming up continues with that hunting tradition.
