Wine Grape Scholarships

Wine Grape Scholarships

Wine Grape Scholarships. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

Students studying in the wine grape industry, listen up. There is money available for scholarships according to Vicky Scharlau with the Washington Wine Industry Foundation.

SCHARLAU: Well the Washington Wine Industry Foundation every year gives away a number of scholarships and this year our deadline is June 1. We have nearly $20-thousand dollars available in scholarships for those students who are looking to either major in or plan to major in viticulture or enology or a related field at one of the institutions in Washington State and even in some institutions around the U.S.

She discusses more of the eligibility requirements.

SCHARLAU: You do have to be either a high school senior of high school graduate and if you are already enrolled in a program, freshman through junior and even if you are in a post graduate program many of these scholarships would apply for you and it ranges anywhere from $500 and in some cases up to $3000.

But again the deadline is June 1.

SCHARLAU: All the information we have available on our website which is washingtonwinefoundation.org and you’ll be able to find the application forms, the requirements of each of the different scholarships.

That’s today’s Fruit Grower Report. I’m Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network.
