Washington Wine Month

Washington Wine Month

Washington Wine Month. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Fruit Grower Report.

The Washington wine industry has a new project to help get more people excited about Washington wine. Ryan Pennington, Public Relations Director for the Washington Wine Commission.

PENNINGTON: Washington Wine Month is really the signature local promotion for the wine industry and includes special tastings and events at wineries, restaurants, retailers, special packages at hotels around the state and culminating of course in Taste Washington which is our signature local event in Seattle March 31and April 1 this year.

Pennington says they have reached out to the wineries across the state.

PENNINGTON: We have been in communication with wineries as well as retailers and restaurants and we have created a central website, washingtonwinemonth.com as a one stop shop for all the promotions going on around the state. So retailers and restaurants have entered in what they’re doing to celebrate wine month and consumers can find all those deals at washingtonwinemonth.com.

Some of the deals for wine month include free tastings at local retailers, discounts on Washington wine at top restaurants, winemaker dinners pairing the state’s top winemakers and chefs. Be sure to check the website during the month of March for more specials.
