Syngenta's Zivalgo
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. Pests are just that, pests! And when it comes to pests when growing your potatoes, or any other crop for that matter, they can be a nightmare. But Syngenta has a new product they think could be a real difference maker …
MAXFIELD … “Syngenta’s extremely excited right now. We’ve been working on a product; this molecule was actually discovered in 2007. We’ve been working on it in trialing for over 12 years.”
But now, Syngenta Agronomist, Dan Maxfield says it’s ready for use in your field, or will be very soon …
MAXFIELD … “We received federal registration in November of 2025. State registrations are coming through now, and this product is called Zivalgo insecticide. And this is a potato product powered by Plinazolin technology.”
This technology, Maxfield says will be used across most crops …
MAXFIELD … “The insecticide is Plinazolin technology and it’s across essentially every crop you can think of. There will be a product within the brand architecture, but for us in the potato world, it’s called Zivalgo.”
But, Maxfield says why they’re most excited …
MAXFIELD … “There’s a lot of attributes that make this product really unique, but really the one big one is that it’s a brand-new mode of action. It’s an IRAC Group 30 which makes it very unique when you’re rotating modes of action. It gives us a new option.”
