What did the first Farmer based surveys on planted crop acreage for this season indicate within USDA's June Acreage report? Anthony Prillaman of the National Agricultural Statistics Service who starts with total planted acreage for a combined 22 major crops. Speaker2: The principal crops total for 2025 is estimated at nearly 311 million acres. This is up 3/10 of a percent, or 899,000 acres, from what we estimated back in March. Speaker1: Of that acreage, corn constitutes 95.2 million acres. Speaker2: This is down one tenth of a percent, or 120,000 acres from the March intentions, but up by 0.1%, or 4.61 million acres from what was planted last year. Speaker1: Total wheat acres planted was down 1% year over year. Speaker2: Winter wheat planted area at 33.3 million acres is up less than one tenth of a percent, or just 10,000 acres from the March estimate, but down 2/10 of a percent or 65,000 acres from the previous season. Other spring wheat planted area at just over 10 million acres, is up 2/10 of a percent, or 25,000 acres from the March intentions, but it's down 5.5% from the previous season. It continues the overall decline we have seen going back to 2018, and this represents the lowest planted acreage in the US since 1970.
