The final act is in—Florida’s 2025 Farm Bill has officially been signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Florida Ag Commissioner Wilton Simpson helped lead the effort, with strong support from lawmakers in both the House and Senate. And this one’s a biggie—covering everything from food labeling and emergency prep to protecting farmland and expanding support for ag producers.

Here are a few highlights: the bill bans additives like fluoride from public water systems, strengthens disaster assistance for farmers, and puts clearer rules around what can—and can’t—be called milk or meat on grocery store shelves.

It also pushes back on lending discrimination tied to environmental policies, makes sure ag workers have access to housing, and supports 4-H and FFA programs in local schools.

On the consumer side, you’ll see tougher penalties for fuel theft and check fraud, clearer price tags in stores, and updated rules to keep fuel flowing during storms.

Commissioner Simpson called it the most comprehensive agriculture and consumer protection bill in Florida’s history—and it’s now officially law.
