The Swiss Army Knife of Nutrient Efficiency

California produces nearly 90% of the nation’s strawberries, and with projections from the California Strawberry Commission showing an upward trend in acreage for 2025, the industry is gearing up for even more growth and innovation.

Part of that includes the utilization of humic acids, organic molecules whose sources include soils, organic materials, and even coal and whose possibilities, according to James Schaeffer with Helena Agri-Enterprise, LLC are abundant…

“Humic acids are actually the most concentrated form of plant active compounds found in organic matter. Humus. Humic ore, or leonardite, is mined from the earth. And, so, when you extract these humic and fulvic acids from this ore, there are so many wonderful compounds in there that do many things. It’s kind of the Swiss Army knife. We don’t really have enough time to talk about everything, but where we position them this time of year, especially in the berries, would be for nutrient use efficiency.”

With Hydra-Hume, the humic product I chatted with James about, he says that you can increase efficiency of the products you are applying. For more, contact your local Helena representative or visit HelenaAgri.com
