A 60-70% Loss of Honeybee Colonies in 2025
Type “honeybee decline” into your internet search bar and take a breather. It’s going to populate hundreds of articles released in a very short and recent time window. As reported by ABC News, “Honey bee colonies across the United States are facing record-breaking losses in 2025.” They go on to tell that Washington State University entomologists have announced commercial honey bee colony losses are projected to reach between 60% and 70% in 2025.

“We started hearing about losses on January 27, but to know that it started before that was signs that we kind of looked at but didn’t take as seriously as we could or should have.”

…and now a hard lean on researchers to help to determine the cause and/or causes to this rapid decline in an effort to reverse what not only has major for the beekeeping industry but agriculture as a whole.
