That bull looked like my dog finding a shot bird. That bull had his nose to the ground trotting and he was maybe 90 seconds behind his cows. And so it appeared to me, about a dozen cows went up here to me he’s not far behind, just making sure, you know, that they're OK. So it's really cool. So I thought to myself, there's herd one bedded herd two is going right at the same direction. I don't know what my plan is, but I'm going over there. Oh, yeah. So I dropped down, cross the creek and I'm going up this game trail and I'm just stocking up real slow. And then I think I hear a noise. So I step up, you know, a yard or two off the game trail behind this giant Douglas fir tree trunk.
Four foot diameter. And I stand there and listen. And then I hear another noise. And so I knock an arrow. So I'm thinking it could be elk walking around here anywhere. So get ready.
Right. And so I'm standing there and I actually turned my feet so I could shoot. You know, I'm right handed. So my bow is my left her my feet so I could shoot to the right if I had to. Or back to the left. Thank goodness I did that. So I'm standing there. And then all of a sudden I hear this crazy noise.
And I'm thinking, that sounds like somebody sawing a log, like making camp up there. But there's a freakin elk herd there, forty five minutes ago. How could that be?
