TED KOCH is all outdoors meaning that he hunts and exclusively eat wild game. I love listening to him discuss the way he sets up for and conducts his hunts, in this case, in the mountains for elk. Speaker2: It was a great hunt, a real adventure. My buddies and I have been going to the same camp for close to 20 years now, and we have a great time supporting each other and heading out with our bows. I say I like bow hunting more than gun hunting because I stand much less of a chance of ruining my hunt by actually having to kill something. But at the same time, my family and I do live off of game meat, a hormone free antibiotic free, fat, free, beautiful, healthy stuff that near our garden this year. Same thing went out with my buddies and we've been hunting for a few days. No one has had luck yet. And so this one morning it actually saw the night before and we got up, we actually climbed a ridge up to 10,000 feet elevation where there was some snow on the ground in mid September. We got into this one herd and kind of tracked it up a ridge and we came over the top and I went about four steps too far because I stopped. I looked below me into some burned timber and I saw something and I glanced and sure enough there was a big bull bedded down about 80 yards away. But as I was looking a Spike bull walk right in front of my field of view, looking through my binoculars. And he was then in much closer and he saw me and the whole herd took off. My buddy and I were pretty disappointed, but it was cold and windy. So we got into the lead on the side of the mountain and built a little fire and ate our breakfast. Thought about what to do next. Speaker1: You'll hear in another episode.
