Ron Talbott is a varmint hunter and owns Red River Calls out of Eastern Oregon. I stopped by and visited with him, not very long ago, at the Boise sportsmen’s show. Ron and his staff will take you hunting in Oregon, Idaho and Wyoming for coyotes and other predators. “I’m a predator hunter out of Eastern Oregon and I hunt a lot of predators and we put them on DVDs. I do presentations on coyote calling and instruction. I do them for clubs around the Valley, Safari club international. Define predators. Obviously coyotes. Bobcats, badgers, Mountain lion and I call them all. I design my own calls, distress calls, and then coyote vocalization. A lone howl on a coyote says, hey I’m out there, is there anyone else out there? I have heard them when they have made a kill and it seems like their all shouting and they are excited, is that right? They will do what is called a rally and a rally is to go to a kill or a rally to go for breeding but yes, a rally is to get excited about something, usually families of coyotes that are together in a group.
