Wheat Finds Strength With US Dollar
This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Friday. A stronger US Dollar gives the wheat market a slight boost, which could add a ripple effect throughout commodities. Here’s Terry Roggensack with the CME Group to share more.
Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. closed the day up ¾ to finish at 7-13. Dec. Corn was dn 4, to close at 5-29 ½. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. were up 4 ½, to settle at 7-20 ½.
Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 10-50 to 13-50. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein for Oct. were Unch, ranging from 10-50 to 11-00. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein for Oct. were up 4 ½, ranging from 8-70 ½ to 8-95 ½. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Oct. were up 1 ¾, ranging from 10-41 ½ to 10-51 ½.
Live Cattle for Dec. were dn $.87 ½, closing at 128.57 ½. Nov. Feeder cattle were dn $.27 ½, to finish the day at 157.30. Oct. Class III milk was Unch to settle at 17.15.
