Augmenta Automates Precision Nitrogen Applications

Advancements continue in the precision agriculture industry to help farmers make the most of nutrient and chemical applications. Augmenta is a company that offers a real-time camera and AI based hardware platform retrofitted to your tractor or self-propelled sprayer. Matt Garber is the head of customer success for the company for North America.

Garber… “There are many ways to apply and come up with prescriptions for variable rate nitrogen on a field. But many of those are time and labor intensive. They may take a combination of maps and backend work and transfer that data to machinery. Whereas the Augmenta system is it plug and play system live, real time, making the prescription and doing the application via the sprayer or tractor's monitor VT system that's variable rate compatible on the field as it runs across the field. So it's a piece of hardware that's put on top of the cab and then the application type is selected in Augmenta's software. And then you can take off and apply that simply.”

Garber says the system also allows farmer to generate NDVI maps with the technology simply by running the machinery through the field.
