Grains Lose Ground
This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Friday. Grains find themselves losing ground after Wednesday’s market came to a close, with recent rains partly to blame. Let’s go to Terry Roggensack with the CME Group to hear more.
Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. closed the day dn 4 ¼, to finish at 618. Dec. Corn was dn 7 ¼, to close at 523 ¾. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. were upo 3 ½, to settle at 588.
Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 7-75 to 8-90. Soft white wheat with Ordinary Protein for Aug. was Unch, ranging from 7-70 to 8-40. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein for Aug. were up 3 ½, ranging from 6-88 to 7-23. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Aug. were dn 3, ranging from 9-00 to 9-20.
Live Cattle for Aug were dn $1.32 ½, closing at 119.27 ½. Aug Feeder cattle were dn $1.67 ½, to finish the day at 157.32 ½. Aug. Class III milk was up $.67, to settle at 17.59.
