Hunting strategies and experiences while going after elk and muleys. A lesson from experienced outdoorsman Brian Huskey.

You have a mule deer buck that is very, very challenging. Arguably the toughest big game animal to harvest in North America, certainly during the September archery seasons when they are extremely savvy and almost entirely nocturnal, whereas during that month, the bull elk by comparison, they are in their rut. And so the bull elk are running around, acting dumb, pursuing breeding opportunities and ideally making a whole bunch of noise in that process. There's a great amount of strategy and effort that's involved in the audio, in the verbal conversations that elk have with themselves and using that to my advantage as a hunter. To not only locate where elk are at, but of course engage in a dialogue with them and calling and speaking with them. So there's kind of a shifting of tables that the shifting of timeline and a shifting of techniques and strategies when it comes to calling elk and hunting them with a bow or finding mulel deer to hunt with a rifle and then getting within rifle range.
