I have introduced you to him before and I want to talk to him again because he is a genius when it comes to elk... Corey Jacobson has a website called Elk 101. But there is nothing basic or 101ish about him. He has spent his life hunting these great animals and is extremely knowledge-based when it comes to his lifetime pursuit, no pun intended. It all started with his dad. No surprise there. Here is Corey: ” we grew up in northern Idaho and hunting and just in a way of life. He was an elk outfitter growing up, gone the month of September guiding other folks, and has been doing the world championship elk calling contest since they started it back in 1984 or 85. I started competing in in 1990 19 or 20 years and we have been doing it for the last. Do you have a favorite elk call and if so why is it your favorite? Well I’m going to be totally biased. We actually designed our own elk call. My dad actually owns Bugling Bull game calls which is one of the more well known elk calling manufacturers in the nation and we worked with them to design our own Elk 101 line of calls. We have one diaphragm and one open reed cow call. the Elk 101 All-Star is the diaphragm and the Elk 101 Temptress is the cow call.
