Choosing a shotgun. Brady Kirkpatrick has a website called Gunmade.com and he blogs all about firearms and hunting. While talking with him, it dawned on me that I should ask him for a recommendation. Gunmade.com suggests that you know something about guns. All right. Let's say that you're a beginning skeet shooter, waterfowl hunter, pheasant hunter. Tell me the gun that you would recommend. What kind of shotgun would you recommend? Oh, man. My favorite is the Beretta 686. It's a 12 gauge great over/under. It's a little bit pricey, but it's definitely one of the best options you'll find out there. If you don't know, David Beretta’s are really very well known for their craftsmanship. And this model is a beautiful gun. So, you know, if you've got the money and you're willing to fork something up for a long term investment, I would personally recommend the Beretta 686. But, you know, generally speaking, any over/under12 gauge should do the job. Give me an idea of the price of the Beretta. I believe I've purchased it for around nineteen hundred. Let me see what it is today. It looks like you can buy it today for about two thousand, but for a lifetime. And it'll last a lifetime. Absolutely. And like I said, it's a beautiful looking gun. You'll use it for the rest of your life if you want to. I have shot a bunch of Berettas. And he is right. They are fabulous. Gunmade.com
