This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Thursday. Lower Corn prices give cattle a boost as midweek cash trades firm up the market. Let’s go to Virginia McGathey with the CME Group to hear more.

McGathey “Now Feeder’s did rebound for even more for the last couple of days now, those easing Corn prices did help to give that market a little bit of a breather that brought in some more buying. Now there has been some strength in the markets and they’re expecting that there’s going to be even more strength as we go through Labor Day Weekend. “

Chicago Wheat prices for Dec. closed yesterday up 4 ½, to finish at 522. Dec. Corn dn 2, to finish the day at 339 ¾. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. were up 7 ½, to close at 449.

Portland prices for soft white wheat for Sep. ended the day Unch, ranging from 5-37 to 5-45. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein, prices for Oct. were up 7 ½, ranging from 5-72 ½ to 5-87 ½. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Oct. were up 2 ¾, ranging from 6-23 ¾ to 6-48 ¾.

Live Cattle for Oct. were up $.95, closing at 110.82 ½. Oct. Feeder cattle up $.42 ½, to finish the day at 146.80. Sept. Class III milk was dn $.47, at 15.53.
