This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Tuesday. Corn prices holding steady, while wheat struggles to hold ground after Monday’s market came to a close. Virginia McGathey with the CME Group, explains.

McGathey “Now Wheat did fall today, that Russian Harvest data did have some big increases and since they are the biggest exporter in the world, that is going to put some pressure on the US wheat market.”

Chicago Wheat prices for Sept. closed yesterday dn 10 ¼, to finish the day at 521.

Dec. Corn was up 1 ½, at 328 ½. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. were dn 11 ¾ to finish the day at $4.30 ¾.

Portland prices for soft white wheat of Ordinary Protein for Sep. ended the day dn 5 to Unch, ranging from 5-70 to 5-80. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein, prices for Aug. were dn 11 ¾, ranging from 5-65 ¾

to 5-80 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Sept. were dn 7 ½ to

19 ½, ranging from 6-01 ½ to 6-14 ½.

Live Cattle for Oct. were up $.40 at 108.27 ½. Sept. Feeder cattle were up $.85, to finish the day at 147.07 ½. Aug. Class III milk was dn 75 cents at 20.28.
