The paper bags come in all sizes, with baby potatoes in 1 and 1.5-pounds, and A and B-sized potatoes in 3, 5, and 10-pound bags.

**By mapping the genome of a key grapevine pest, University of California scientists say they’ve learned how the insect spreads, which could help them stop it.

The research involves Phylloxera, which feeds off and damages grapevines.

Working with colleagues in France, UC Riverside specialists identified genes that allow the insects to colonize vines, which could lead to breeding of grape rootstock that resists the pest.

**The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association last week launched a nationwide grassroots campaign to highlight the #BenefitsofBeef, calling on cattle producers to submit public comments in support of beef’s role in federal dietary guidelines.

The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee newly released Scientific Report lays the groundwork for five years of federal nutrition guidance and comments are being accepted until August 13 as USDA and the Department of Health and Human Services work to finalize the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
