August marks the 21st anniversary of the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Colorado Proud Program. Governor Jared Polis has issued another proclamation making August Colorado Proud Month.

The celebrations would normally be held across the state with members att farmers’ markets, and county fairs. But in the times of COVID this celebration in going virtual.

“Our business development specialist has put together a great series of virtual workshops that are free to help businesses grow, get on the retail shelves, develop their brand, enhance their brand identity.”

Colorado Proud Marketing Specialist Wendy White says the workshops will take place over teh month and cover several topics.

“The first one is August 4th at noon and that’s entitled Retail Nitty Gritty. August 11th is the next one at noon and the final one will be August 25th at noon. They’re all free virtual workshops. We have information about each of them on www.Coloradoproud.org

The Governor’s proclamation states the Colorado Proud program encourages consumers to buy locally produced foods to support local businesses and the state’s economy; encourages the state’s chefs, restaurants and schools to use Colorado products in their daily menus; supports climate stewardship and investment in high-value agriculture and diversified market opportunities; and is helping more than 2,900 Colorado companies market their food and agricultural products.
