Arrow or bullet

Shot placement, I asked expert Hunter Guide and outfitter Bill Burnett if archery or a rifle was more efficient in harvesting a big game animal. Shot placement is always going to be what determines that. And so correct shot placement with any weapon type will do its job quickly and efficiently. Poor shot placement with even the most powerful weapons often results in lost game. Honestly, a rifle and a bow kill just as efficiently if the shot is placed correct. They do kill with different principles, you know. So an arrow placed in the right location. Oftentimes an animal won't even know that they've been struck. And I've seen many elk be hit with an arrow, pick their head up, look around and go right back to feeding. They feel something, but they don't have a concept of being mortally wounded and they go right back to what they were doing, Ii it hasn't broken any bones. But a lot of times archery, hunting elk like deer in the rut,We’ve had lots of bulls where we'll call bull and go make a successful shot with an arrow. And I can get on the cow call and turn that bull right around and he'll walk right back into the same call after having been shot with an arrow.

It is so satisfying talking with a guy that has so much expertise and is so able to articulate it.
