Farmers regularly review data on products to make purchasing decisions. But that data is generated from studies made elsewhere, by a company or through a university. Nick Cizek is developing a tool that empowers farmers and agronomists to be testing how products work for them on their farms.

Cizek… “Each year, when a farmer sits down. They're going to sit down and buy seeds and crop protection and fertilizer. And, and most of those, you know, there are data on how those things perform, but they're generally data from a region level. And you really can see differences even from fields that are well within a mile apart, you can see big differences in response to different management practices. My hope is that what will scale much better is if we make it so easy for farmers to do experiments as part of their normal practices, that they don't really have to change what they're doing and the experiments automatically get done. And then they can sit down at the end of the season with their trusted advisors and say, here's what the yield difference of profit differences for all these things we tried. And how much should we change things going into next year based on what we learned this year?”

Cizek’s company FarmTest is looking for farmer collaborators as he rolls out this service. Find them at FarmTest.ai.
