Good friend Chad Hood goes on a caribou hunt in Alaska.

We were floating about 50 miles of this river. It was a resident caribou that we were targeting. But also in the back of my head I had a sheep tag because I was a resident at the time and so we started the first few days off looking for a ram and we had found a couple but none of them were…they were right on the edge of being legal or not, because it has to be a full curl in Alaska. So we kind of passed on them. And then one of my friends shot a nice caribou a couple days into the mix and the weather was perfect the whole time. It was twenty five-twenty six at night, warming up into the low to mid 40s. So perfect for keeping the meat. And then my friend and I, we actually something I've never seen before. We found another nice group of bulls, a couple of shooters that we were happy about in there. And so they were getting real nervous that we were maybe just over 300 yards away. And so we ended up shooting on a three count, which I'm not sure it's the best idea, but that was the best thing we could come up with. So it was kind of like on the count of three, one, two, three, we both shot and we both had nice clean hits and they went down. And so from that point on, I think we were scheduled to still be out another four days. But we had a SAT phone and we called the operator to meet us in a couple of days and we hauled Butt down the river and the last night was the great big bonfire.

The plane arrived. They took off safely and got back home.
